Zumiez Best Foot Forward and Skatefest 2012

We had a great trip to MD and NOVA.  The Zumiez Couch Tour went well.  After the rain passed, we watched the Girl Skate Team demo the park.  Micah qualified for the AM division but did not make the finals.  In Fairfax, Skatefest was a huge event with many vendors and participants.  Micah placed 3rd after in 14 and under Game of Skate after going about 6 rounds in 95+ degree heat.  He also had some of the best skating of his life placing 1st in 14 and under mini, street and best trick!

Sponsor Tork Trux had a tent.  The whole Tork Crew shredded and we enjoyed hanging out with Rob and Dustin.

Micah met the Pyramid Skateboard Crew from Annapolis, MD.  Alex, Cam and Nick had great style, love skating and really hit it off with Micah.  They are his newest sponsor.  Cosmic Skate Shop will be carrying Pyramid boards.

Well, the weather was so good that we had to get out. Micah and I hit Dry Ridge, Florence outdoors, Beechmont, then we decided to find the Newport skate spot under the bridge. After driving under a couple of bridges by the levee, we decided to get something to eat. While at the Burger King we ate, about ready to give up on our search when this dude walks in with a beanie, a bunch of tatoos and a skateboard. Yes! I asked him and he knew exactly where the spot was and said that there was a mini ramp too. We were excited to find such a cool place. And Micah enjoyed skating with Johnny who was rather good.
