Here is some video from our X Game 09 experience. So much to see! The Disney XD kids got to do a demo on the XD mini park. They also had a signing, plus got to present the medals to the women's vert winners. All got to be forerunners at different events. Micah got to do a 30 sec run before the Park Semi-Finals. He was so nervous, but did great.

Matt, David, Micah, Josh in Bowling Green and Nashville this earlier this summer. This was Josh's first skate trip.

Had a great trip to X Games 15. We hit Culver City Skatepark and Belvedere on Mon. Hit Venice Beach Tues and ate at China Town. Had shooting at the Disney XD park and the Skateboard Park Venue at the Home Depot Center Wed. Went back for the opening of the games Thurs with more shooting and a red carpet appearance for the opening of X Games 3D the Movie. Friday went back to see practice. Sat Micah was the forerunner for the Men's Park Elimination Round. Sunday we relaxed. We hit Dyrdek's Skate Plaza and street skated. The final 30 minute finale of Next X will air this Monday Aug 10 at 9pm on Disney XD.

Pro Mike Frazier worked with Micah and the other vert skaters this week.

Micah got his first Stalefish in the 10ft during his vert run in the vert contest.

When Micah and I got to Woodward East this week we were stunned to see this incredible new park being built. It made me think about all the athletic canvases out there: The baseball field, the football field, the basketball court... even though there are differences, they are more alike than different. Skateparks on the other hand can be uniquely different in structure. This new plaza is a work of art that also has a functional purpose. This plaza rivals looks like it could be set outside a famous national museum. Watching the guys labor through the building process was not too different than watching a mother give birth to a beautiful baby. Those guys worked from 6am to 11pm in heat and rain. I got to hang w/the work crew some. They were all real cool, especially the project manager Bill. Most if not all were skaters. They seemed to really love their work. Their company is California Skateparks and they have some awesome parks built.

Micah got some vert instruction from Mike Frazier. There was a mystery skater who came in today -- TONY HAWK! Micah got to skate Cloud 9 with Tony, Kevin Staab, Mike Frazier and Kevin Johnson.

On a different note, keep Brewce Martin founder and owner of Skatopia in your prayers. Last I heard he was airlifted to Huntington, WV for his severe head injuries.
