New friends of Cabin 25 at Camp Woodward: Jack, Micah, Archer, Anson and Kevin

Micah and I had an amazing time at Woodward. In the advanced mini ramp division he placed 3rd and did well in intermediate street though he did not place. He learned to drop into the vert ramp. And he got tapped (invited to the all-star week)!

Yeah, we wimped out and skipped the Bowling Green skatepark opening. I just didn't see spending the gas money to see Micah knock himself out and rust his bearings in the rain. Well, we went to Ollies instead. Half of Lexington was there. Micah got feeble grind to fakie in the bowl, mini and 6ft mini. He also got 50/50s in the corner of the bowl. We had fun w/Rachel and Joe. Joe learned to carve and Rachel beat a bunch of kids at skate. Here is an article on the BG Skatepark opening at http://bgdailynews.com/articles/2007/04/15/news/news1.txt (cut and paste it into your browser). We are so happpy for Bowling Green and can't wait to come down.

Spring Break skateboard in KY, VA, MD and MI.

Micah at Modern Skatepark in Novi, MI. He placed 2nd in the intermediate bowl competition.

Grandpa Wu, Micah and I went to Fredericksburg, VA to check out the new "Old School Skatepark." It had a cool bowl. Micah liked the mini and the spine. We met a nice young skateboard instructor who does web design named Charles Dagley. Micah had a close game of SKATE with him. His site is http://www.hypnoticproductionz.com/.

We're having fun visiting family and hitting skateparks in VA. Micah skated Wakefield Skatepark yesterday (switch 50/50s!) and we are headed out to Powhattan Springs this morning. Hopefully we will hit Olney Manor, a new park in Olney, MD this week also. We will head up to Novi, Michigan (www.modernskatepark.com) at the end of the week for the Bill Danforth American Nomad Pool Shootout. There will be Pro and Am divisions. Check out Micah's newest video at www.phenomskateboards.com click video then Micah's.

A dude named Aaron took a shot of this fakie wally for his photojournalism class this winter. Thanks Aaron!

We went up with our friend David Castillos to Ollie's last night for the bands McRad, Smiles and for the Best Trick contest. Micah did well in the bowl with smooth frontside airs, an Indy, lipslide and cool carves. He was the youngest competitor. He received an Honorable Mention. Morgan Burgess ripped up the bowl taking first.

The Sessions Mini Ramp Comp was a blast! Micah was the youngest to compete in the Intermediate Division. He took a surprising 2nd place. 1. Alex Longcamp 2. Micah Wu 3. Brandon Lee 4. DJ Rybicki
Thanks to Mike and DC Shoes for deciding to flow Micah!

Micah got 1st place (out of 40 contestants) in the intermediate bowl and 3rd in the mini at KOTG. We could not believe it! Click here for results. Thanks to Orlando and PhenOm boards, Micah's new board sponsor and Jesse and Laura for putting us up and driving us through multiple foot drifts of snow! Here are pics and a vid from Saturday's qualifier. Here are pics and a vid from the finals Sunday.

3rd Lair King of the Groms -- after a couple flight delays we finally got to Minnesota. Laura picked us up at the airport. Laura and Jesse took us out to eat at Hong Kong Noodles. We are getting ready for the competition today. It is STIFF. There are 40 competitors in the Micah's first competition - Intermediate Bowl. The sheet can be viewed here. I think I counted 156 total registrants from over 20 states.

2-18-07 Went to Ollie's. It was hopping. Morgan and DJ were tearing up the park. Micah finally started getting his frontside ollies. He snapped a bunch off in the little mini, the 6 foot halfpipe and the bowl.

2-19-07 After shoveling off the Woodland Park, Micah got some good runs in. We are real excited about flying out to the King of the Groms at Third Lair in Minneapolis, MN. It is advertised as the largest 12 and under skateboard competition in the world.

Here is some footage from the comp, Concrete Wave Country, Ollies, and Woodland.

Here is the video that Sixth Avenue Skatepark put together for the Young Guns Comp. Alex Longcamp, one of Micah's friends from Ollies took first in the expert.
