So, we had a great trip to WI (thanks Orlando!) where we got some footy and picked up some new Phenoms. Micah got to skate with Brandon Buchko who is a real nice kid. Wilson skatepark in Chicago was great as usual, but it was hot. On our way home we hit Whiting, but they were tearing it down as we pulled in! Two cranes were destroying the largest bowl in IN. Sad. Today was busy, Cosmic did a competition in Berea for their grand opening. It was sweet and the kids loved it. Leonard did a great job MCing in his cast. Josh and I stopped by after the Lex Cath Reunion Ultimate tournament. It was good seeing Bubby, Elijah, Andrew, Cierra, Alan, Kenitha, Eddie, Hamm, Abe and the rest of the gang. Micah was absent, due to the pre qualifier mini ramp comp at Ollies for the Warp Tour. Micah placed 2nd in a field of over 20. I wasn't there, but he said he got some new tricks such as Back Smith up the slanted coping, back feeble grind to fakie up the slanted coping , fs smith down the slanted coping and nollie/bigspin/heelflip from the pipe to the roll in. Next stop, parks in VA.

ICTHUS 2010 - Skate Love Ministry Nicholasville (Chris Wise, Frankie Fehsenfeld), Skate Church Lexington (Gavin Duerson, David Wu) and Half Cab Skateshop (Kyle McMillion and Family) took Icthus up on an offer to build a skate park for the event. Within one week we somehow received donations of materials, finances and labor to build a spine, 3 quarters, a slanted ramp, and wall ride. Along with David and Andrew's boxes and Kyle's mini, we had a skatepark. Cosmic hosted a demo, high ollie contest and game of skate yesterday. Here is where the Herald Leader got Micah doing a stalefish (second shot in the slideshow).

Leonard and Micah at Lawrenceburg, KY from David Wu on Vimeo.

Had to go back to Lburg -- took Leonard with us. He ripped. Skated, drank water, skated, played disc golf. Leonard lost my disc, went into the woods and came out with an even nicer disc.

Here are some pics and footage thrown together from Dry Ridge, Frankfort and two new parks: Berea and Lawrenceburg, KY. Berea has a cool faux brick bank/barrier, some stairs, quarters and rails. Very small though. Micah and I liked Lawrenceburg better between the two. L'burg, KY (not to be confused w/Lburg, IN) has 3 long rails, gaps, a pole jam, ledges... a great little street park. The mini was too small though -- and if it is too small for Micah -- be prepared for small. There is less flat then our garage mini. But we will be going back to Lburg soon, and we will definitely hit Berea the next time we go to Knoxville.

The FCA Skate Tour was incredible. We went to Ollies, Louisville, Frankfort, Georgetown, Dry Ridge, Florence, Lawrenceburg and Woodland. The food was great -- Gavin rapping at Cici's was unbelievable, the love, the tightness, the new spots and the new friends and the competitions were all fun. We had a high ollie contest, game of skate and street comp. Orlando donated all the decks (your insane O!). Thanks to O for bringing down Zach Kral, Alec Majerus and Jase. Not only did these guys shred, but they had great attitudes all week. Thanks to Bruce and his boys for coming up from Bowling Green. Also, thanks to Chris Wise and Frankie and everything they did. We need to plan more road trips and explore opportunities to build ramps -- and our faith in God together.

What a trip! Thanks to the Pennimans and congratulations to King William who recovered from the worst slam to win the expert street. We enjoyed making the journey with Shawn "Bubby" Brooks who qualified for beginner street in MN. Micah placed 3rd in expert mini, 6th in expert bowl and 11th in expert street.
